Why was Lauryn Hill locked up?
Lauryn Hill has been an influential person to almost everyone including her fellow rap colleagues. She has been active in the music world since 1998 and has been making good music which earned her a huge fan base that supports her and her music. Aside from that she has gained massive wealth from her music career.
Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in prison and an extra three house arrests for failing to taxes on about $1 million in earnings on June 3, 2013.
According to the Grammy-singer, Lauryn Hill, she explained she had always meant to eventually pay the taxes but was unable to during a period of time when she dropped out of the music business. She also said she hadn’t paid taxes since she withdrew from society to guarantee her family’s safety but that she always intended to rectify the situation.
