Loretta Lynn was originally born Lorretta Webb, she is from Butcher Hollow, Kentucky. Loretta Lynn was born to Clara Marie and Melvin Theodore on 14 April 1932. 

According to sources, her father was a coal miner and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Her father died at the age of 52 from a stroke four years after relocating with her mother and younger siblings to Wabash, Indiana. He had also been battling black lung disease at the time of his death.
