It is said that Henry believed in the talent of his son from infancy. Such was the belief he had in Jeff that he often put old master paintings signed by his son on the window of his shop. This was predominantly to attract customers.

His mother, Gloria Koons, is originally from York, Pennsylvania in the United States, while his father is also American, from York.
