Loretta Lynn got married at the age of 15 to Oliver Vanetta “Doolittle” Lynn, in 1926 for almost 50 years until his death in 1996 at the age of 69 years. According to her, her husband had regularly cheated on her but she stayed strong in her marriage even at the hardest point.

Lorretta Lyn and Oliver Lynn had six children together, four of whom are still alive. She had her first child at the age of 16, Lynn’s eldest daughter, Betty Sue was born on November 26, 1948, and died of complications associated with emphysema on 29 July 2013.

The second child and eldest son, Jack Benny Lynn, born December 7, 1949, was found deceased on July 24, 1984, after going missing whilst horse riding on his mother’s Hurricane Mills ranch.

Loretta’s third and fourth children are Ernest Ray Lynn, born May 27, 1951, and Clara Marie “Cissie” Lynn, born less than a year later on April 7, 1952.

Her twin daughters Peggy Jean and Patsy Eileen were born on August 6, 1964, and they are the youngest of Lynn’s children which she had at the age of 32.

The twins formed the country band The Lynns in the late nineties and started out in Nashville playing at a local club and came to the attention of a record label.

The sisters recorded an album for Reprise Records and charted two singles on the Hot Country Songs chart on Billboard. They were nominated in both 1998 and 1999 for CMA awards for vocal duo of the year.
