Since 2005, Alexander N. Green, a lawyer and politician from the United States (born September 1, 1947), has represented Texas’s 9th congressional district in Washington.
Green, a Democratic Party member, presided as Harris County’s judge of the peace from 1977 until 2004.
How long has Al Green been in Congress?
Al started using drugs and moving in with his prostitution-related girlfriend. As a senior in high school, Green started the vocal group Al Greene & the Creations, and Palmer James and Curtis Rodgers founded the independent record company Hot Line Music Journal.
As Al Greene & the Soul Mates, the group recorded “Back Up Train” in 1968, and it was later made available on Hot Line. At #46 on the “Cash Box” Top 100 chart, “Back Up Train” peaked.
Al met Memphis record producer Willie Mitchell while performing with the group; during a 1969 concert in Texas, Al sang with Mitchell’s band. Green then joined Mitchell’s record company, Hi Records.
