Paul McCartney has never been averse to working with other artists.

There is a strong possibility he will agree to collaborate with someone if they are bold enough to approach him and, of course, if their level of creativity is commensurate. Even McCartney would probably acknowledge that not every partnership benefits from his special touch. Given the former Beatle’s credentials, who could possibly refuse McCartney despite the occasional slip-up? Thom Yorke from Radiohead accomplished just that.

In an interview with the Observer, Yorke disclosed the true cause of the rejection: “Uhh, ‘cuz I can’t play the piano.” not in that way. I had to tell him that although I had truly enjoyed the song, “Mr Bellamy,” the piano required two hands to play the piano in a variety of ways. I don’t have access to that talent. I told him, “I play the piano, that’s all.”

A huge admirer of Radiohead’s work, McCartney even hired their longtime producer Nigel Godrich to assist with the recording of his 2005 album “Chaos and Creation in the Backyard.”
