Björk Gumundsdóttir OTF born November 21, 1965, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, composer, record producer, and actress. She is known for her remarkable three-octave vocal range and eccentric attitude, and she has established an eclectic musical style that draws on electronic, pop, experimental, trip-hop, classical, and avant-garde music across her four-decade career.

Gumundur Gunnarsson, a union leader, and electrician is her father. When Björk was born, her parents split, and she moved to a commune with her mother. Her stepfather is Saevar Árnason, a former Pops guitarist.

Björk enrolled in Reykjavik’s Barnamskskóli at the age of six, where she learned classical piano and flute. Following a school presentation in which Björk sang Tina Charles’s 1976 hit “I Love to Love,” her teachers sent a recording of her singing the song to Iceland’s lone radio station, RV.

Björk had a brief marriage with guitarist ór Eldon while founding the Sugarcubes. Sindri Eldon órsson, their son, was born on June 8, 1986, the same day the band was formed. They divorced before the end of 1986 but remained in the band together.

Björk children

Björk has two children namely, Sindri Eldon Thorsson and Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney. Sindri Eldon Thorsson was born in Iceland on June 8, 1986. Sindri Eldon is most recognized for her roles in Prometheus (2012) and Screaming Masterpiece (2005). In 2002, Sadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney was born in London. Since her birth, she has spent the fall and spring semesters of her education in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Brooklyn, New York, respectively. She attends Pitzer College in southern California, where she plans to major in performance. She has dabbled in music in a variety of contexts.

Björk parents

Björk’s mother is called Hildur Rna Hauksdóttir, and she was an activist who campaigned against the construction of Iceland’s Kárahnjkar Hydropower Plant. Gumundur Gunnarsson is her father, a union leader, and an electrician. When Björk was born, her parents divorced and she moved to a commune with her mother. Saevar rnason, a former guitarist in the band Pops, is her stepfather.
