Cornell, who is regarded as one of the primary characters in the grunge movement of the 1990s, is well recognized for his huge body of work as a lyricist, his vocal range of over four octaves, and his effective belting style.
He published two posthumous collections, Chris Cornell (2018), and The Roads We Choose (2007), as well as four solo studio albums: Euphoria Morning (1999), Carry On (2007), Scream (2009), and Higher Truth (2015).
He also recorded the live CD Songbook (2011). He co-wrote and sang “You Know My Name,” the title song to the 2006 James Bond movie Casino Royale, and garnered a Golden Globe nomination for his song “The Keeper,” which was included in the 2011 movie Machine Gun Preacher.
