Robert John Arthur Halford was born on 25 August 1951. He is an English heavy metal singer and is the lead vocalist of Judas Priest, which was formed in 1969 and has received accolades such as the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.

He has been noted for his powerful and wide-ranging operatic vocal style and trademark leather-and-studs image, both of which have become iconic in heavy metal. He has also been involved with several side projects, including Fight, Two, and Halford.

Rob Halford formed this band to try new diversions for music. He had eventually stayed with Judas Priest until May 1992. In Rob Halford’s 2020 memoir Confess, Halford blamed his leaving the band on a ‘miscommunication’, rather than an intentional desire to quit the band.
