Why did Black Sabbath get rid of Ozzy?

John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne, an English singer, songwriter, and television personality was born on 3 December 1948.

He gained notoriety in the 1970s while serving as the lead vocalist for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, earning him the moniker “Prince of Darkness.”

Why did Black Sabbath get rid of Ozzy?

Ozzy Osbourne’s bandmates finally fired him after a protracted period of increasingly erratic behaviour caused by drugs and alcohol.
Black Sabbath had been having a hard time motivating themselves in the studio, which had affected their music.
The fact that Ozzy seldom showed up at the studio added to this perception.
When Tony Iommi made the decision to take Ozzy’s place, the conflicts within the band reached a boiling point.
Osbourne thought he wanted to go in a different musical path anyway, so this was more of a relief for him.
As a member of Black Sabbath and as a solo performer, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has received stars on the Birmingham Walk of Stars and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He won the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards. The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors presented Osbourne with the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2015.
