McKinley Morganfield, known professionally as Muddy Waters, was an American blues singer and musician who was an important figure in the post-war blues scene, and is often cited as the “father of modern Chicago blues”. His style of playing has been described as “raining down Delta beatitude”.
Muddy Waters was born on April 4, 1913, in Issaquena County, Mississippi, United States. he had a great career start until his death.  The singer and guitarist was pronounced dead at Chicago’s Good Samaritan Hospital, reportedly of a heart attack. He was 68 years old at the time of his death.

Who inherited Muddy Waters money and estate?

Muddy Waters had been active in the music world for quite a long time before his death. He had a large fan base and a huge wealth to go with it. According to sources, Muddy Waters had a net worth estimated at 5 million USD which he earned from his singing career.

Muddy Waters had said in his will that his estates and money should be managed by an executor and the money be divided equally amongst his children.

His children took the matter to court after it was reported the executor was mismanaging funds.

The judge appointed Waters’ daughter, Mercy Morganfield, administrator of Waters’ estate. Since Mercy’s appointment, Waters’ heirs have tried to unearth the whereabouts of hundreds of thousands of dollars generated by Waters’ estate but not paid to them.
