Since the 1940s, the Billboard charts have been a mainstay of the music business, keeping track of the most played songs, best-selling acts, and top releases across a variety of genres.
The Billboard charts have had a number of spectacular chart runs throughout the course of more than 80 years of data, starting with The Beatles.
Who has the longest run on Billboard?
The Beatles haven’t put out a new studio album since 1970’s Let It Be, but the quartet left their impact on music history nonetheless. With a total of 20 No. 1 singles, the group continues to retain the record for the most No. 1 songs in Billboard Hot 100 history.
With 54 songs in the top ten, Drake has recently ruled the charts and overtaken Madonna as the artist with the most top 10 hits on the Hot 100. A record-breaker himself, The Weeknd’s 2019–20 hit “Blinding Lights” dethroned Chubby Checker’s “The Twist” as the top song on the Billboard Greatest Songs of All Time Hot 100 chart and spent an incredible 90 weeks (so far) on the chart.
