Playback singer and sometimes composer Lata Mangeshkar was born in India on September 28, 1929, and she passed away on February 6, 2022. She is regarded by many as one of India’s best and most influential vocalists.
Her eight-decade career in the Indian music industry earned her honorific titles like “Queen of Melody,” “Nightingale of India,” and “Voice of the Millennium.”

She received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award from the Indian government in 1989.
