Frederick Nathaniel Hibbert, OJ, better known as Toots Hibbert, was a Jamaican singer and songwriter who was the lead vocalist for the reggae and ska band Toots and the Maytals. A reggae pioneer, he performed for six decades and helped establish some of the fundamentals of reggae music.
Toots Hibbert was born on December 8, 1942, in May Pen, Jamaica, and had a wonderful time playing with his bandmates until his untimely death in 2020.  Toots death was later confirmed that COVID-19 during the pandemic in Jamaica was the underlying cause of his death.

Toots Hibbert had played very well with his vocals and his bandmates. Though his death came as a shock, he was very much loved still in death.

Toots was buried in the last burial spot in The National Heroes Park. This was made possible due to the family of Charles Hyatt, a Jamaican actor, and broadcaster, who gave Hibbert’s family his spot in the park. Grange noted that interment in National Heroes’ Park will suitably memorialize his contribution to Jamaica.
