Wesley Studi, an American actor and producer of Cherokee descent, was born on December 17, 1947. Throughout his career, he has won honours and appreciation from reviewers, particularly for the way he has depicted Native Americans in films.

He has been in both nominated and winning films for Academy Awards, such as Dances with Wolves (1990) and The Last of the Mohicans (1992). (2005). His performance as Sagat in Street Fighter is also well-known (1994).

No fire Hollow, Oklahoma, a rural community in Cherokee County named after his mother’s family, is where Studi was raised. He is the son of ranch worker Andy Studie and housewife Maggie Studie.

Before entering primary school, he only spoke Cherokee at home. In 1964, he received his diploma from Chilocco Indian Agricultural School with a dry cleaning vocational major.

In December 2020, The New York Times listed him #19 on their list of the “25 Greatest Actors of the Twenty-First Century (So Far),” stating that “Wes Studi has one of the screen’s most arresting features — jutting and wrinkled and anchored with the kind of intense eyes that require you meet their look.
