He played college football at USC and was chosen by the Colts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. As a senior, he was named to the consensus second-team All-American.

Pittman graduated from Oaks Christian a semester early and enrolled at USC in the spring of 2016. He caught six passes for 82 yards as a true freshman while also forcing a fumble, returning kicks for 31 yards, blocking punts, and returning kickoffs for 63 yards.

He recorded 23 receptions for 404 yards and two touchdowns in his sophomore season, along with a punt return for a score and a blocked punt on special teams.

Pittman was chosen first-team All-Conference as a special teams player after returning a punt 72 yards for a score against UCLA in Week 12. Pittman was also voted Pac-12 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
