Where did Gabriel Byrne go to high school?

On May 12, 1950, Gabriel Byrne was born in Walkinstown, Dublin, Ireland. He developed into an Irish actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and narrator of audiobooks as he got older.

His playing career began with the Focus Theatre before he moved to London and joined the Royal Court Theatre in 1979. Byrne made his acting debut in the Irish drama series The Riordans and its spin-off program Bracken.

Byrne earned the Irish Film and Television Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 for his contributions to Irish cinema. The Irish Times’ ranking of Ireland’s top film stars for 2020 had him at number 17. The Guardian listed him as one of the greatest performers who were never nominated for an Academy Award.

He rose to fame in Ireland during the final season of The Riordans and then appeared in his own spin-off series, Bracken. Love Is… by Michael Feeney Callan (RTÉ) was his first play to air on television. He made his acting début in 1981 playing King Uther Pendragon in John Boorman’s Excalibur, a King Arthur epic.
