What was Bryan Ferry biggest hit?
Bryan Ferry and a group of friends formed Roxy Music beginning with bassist Graham Simpson, an art school classmate, in November 1970. The line-up was expanded to include saxophonist/oboist Andy Mackay and Brian Eno, an acquaintance who owned tape recorders and played Mackay’s synthesizer. Other early members included timpanist Dexter Lloyd and ex-Nice guitarist David O’List, who were replaced respectively by Paul Thompson and Phil Manzanera before the band recorded its first album.
Ferry disbanded from Roxy Music following the release of their best-selling album Avalon in 1982 to concentrate on his solo career.
Bryan Ferry found fame in the early 1970s as the leader of the art rock band Roxy Music. He launched a successful solo career in 1973 while still in the band, and continued recording music after the band’s breakup in 1983.
One of Bryan Ferry’s biggest hits from his sole career is “Slave To Love“. This is with no doubt this is Bryan Ferry’s most popular solo hit, and one of the songs he sang at Live Aid in 1985.
