Robert Anthony Plant CBE is an English singer and songwriter best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin from 1968 until 1980 when the band disbanded following the death of the band’s drummer, John Bonham.

Plant began performing with his folk-rock band, Priory of Brion, in mid-1999 and continued until the end of 2000. Kevyn Gammond, the original Band of Joy guitarist, was in this band, along with Andy Edwards (drums), Paul Timothy (keyboards), and Paul Wetton (bass). The Priory of Brion performed in over a hundred small clubs and festivals across Europe. The band covered songs that had influenced Plant during his formative years. Many of these cover versions would appear on his Dreamland album later on.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted Plant and the band together in 1995.

Plant contributed to a tribute album for Moby Grape co-founder Skip Spence, who was terminally ill at the time. Plant’s version of Skip Spence’s “Little Hands” was included on the album More Oar: A Tribute to the Skip Spence Album (Birdman, 1999), with the album title referring to Spence’s only solo album, Oar (Columbia, 1969). Plant had been a fan of Spence and Moby Grape since the release of Moby Grape’s self-titled debut album in 1967.
