Nina Simone was known for so many things. She was a great woman in the history of blacks. She was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and civil rights activist and was mostly known as a jazz singer, her music blended gospel, blues, folk, pop, and classical styles.
Nina Simone loved her people dearly and had been more closely associated with the Civil Rights Movement which no other singer had done.
Nina Simone was a great motivation for her fellow black mates who were facing racism. She became a strong voice during the civil rights movement, she released songs like “Mississippi Goddamn” and “Four Women” addressing racism and other injustices. Nina later became the leading voice of the civil rights movement describing the experiences of the African American community in the 1960s.
