Karen Anne Carpenter was born on March 2, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. She was an American singer and drummer, who formed half of the sibling duo the Carpenters alongside her older brother Richard. With a distinctive three-octave contralto range, she was praised by her peers for her vocal skills.

Karen Carpenter had faced a lot of problems including her health, she struggled with her health and made sure it didn’t get in the way of her career. Karen Carpenter suffered a deadly heart attack while staying in her parent’s home in Downey on the morning of February 4, 1983.
