Barbara fired a gun at him in 1970 after learning he was having an affair with Linda, who was 17 at the time. Womack claims that following the episode, Linda didn’t ever speak to her mother again.
Linda married Cecil Womack, the brother of Bobby Womack, and the two of them enjoyed fame as recording artists as Womack & Womack. Love Wars, their debut album from Elektra Records, was well-received by critics.
The R&B track “Baby I’m Scared of You” reached the Top 40. [9] Radio M.U.S.I.C. Man (Elektra 1985), Starbright (Manhattan EMI 1986), Conscience (Island 1988), and Family Spirit (Arista/RCA 1991) were some of the other albums.
Their “Teardrops” single from the album Conscience, released in 1988, became a global hit. Linda sang lead on the song, which was co-written by her and Cecil under the name Womack and Womack.
