The parents of Amiir Gregory Nelson were Prince and Mayte Garcia. At just one week old, the baby boy unfortunately passed away from a rare genetic disease.
At the time, Prince hid the passing of his kid, who was then only known as “Boy Gregory,” from the public.

The infant’s demise was surrounded by peculiar circumstances. After Amiir’s birth and passing, Prince appeared on Oprah, touring the playroom and providing enigmatic responses to inquiries about whether the child had actually been born.
Records were fabricated so that Prince wouldn’t be connected to the infant’s passing.
Both the mother and father of Prince’s lone child chose not to publicly acknowledge the infant’s untimely loss for many months.
It took eight months before Amiir Nelson’s cause of death was determined by a medical examiner. According to E News, the Minneapolis medical examiner at that time disclosed that the infant, known as “Boy Gregory,” had Type 2 Pfeiffer syndrome and had died naturally.
