On October 10, 2022, Marty Sammon, who was only 45 years old, passed suddenly.
Sammon was born on October 14, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He was born and raised in an Irish-American household on the South Side of Chicago, where he also received his piano instruction. While listening to albums with his father, Chicago police officer Martin Sammon Sr., he developed an ear for Irish folk melodies.
The Martyrs urged their kid to pursue piano lessons after realizing that he was a musical prodigy. He started performing on the Chicago blues scene at the age of 15 with guitarist L.V. Banks from the South Side. He was taken to events by his father because he was underage.
