Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is facing a major milestone as her son, Moses Martin, prepares to head off to college in the fall, joining his older sister, Apple Martin, who started college in 2022. Paltrow, 51, recently shared her fears and anxieties about this new chapter in her life.

Speaking at the keynote panel at the In Goop Health Summit, Paltrow expressed her concerns about the upcoming change. She admitted, “It’s kind of giving me a nervous breakdown, if I’m honest. I started being like, ‘Oh my God, and I need to quit my job and I need to sell my house and I need to move.’ It’s sort of putting things into turmoil.”

During the summit, Paltrow shared insights from psychologist-astrologist Jennifer Freed, who encouraged her to view this transition as a sense of freedom rather than loss. “What if I were free? And I could say yes to a girls’ weekend, because I didn’t feel guilty. That kind of thing,” Paltrow reflected.

While Paltrow is apprehensive about Moses leaving for college, she finds solace in the fact that she and her husband, Brad Falchuk, will navigate this new chapter together. As both of their children head off to college, Paltrow is preparing for a shift in their daily routines without the kids at home.

Reflecting on her daughter Apple’s departure for college two years ago, Paltrow described the experience as “horrible” but has been heartened to see her daughter thriving and happy in her new environment. As Moses prepares to follow in his sister’s footsteps, Paltrow remains hopeful and supportive of his journey.
