Sharon Stone won the title of Miss Crawford County, Pennsylvania while attending the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and in 1976, was a candidate for Miss Pennsylvania. One of the pageant judges told her to quit college and move to New York City to become a fashion model. Stone left Meadville and moved in with an aunt in New Jersey, and by 1977, she had been signed by Ford Modeling Agency in New York City.

Stone does not have any children of her own. She adopted her three sons over the years, after suffering a miscarriage in 2000 while married to her second husband Phil Bronstein.

The 64-year-old actress is mum to three adopted boys, Roan, 22, Laird, 18, and Quinn, 16. She recently confessed that an autoimmune disease made it difficult for her to carry a pregnancy to full term, because of that she has been suffering several miscarriages during her marriage to her ex-husband Phil Bronstein from 1998 until 2003.
