Dion was one of the most well-known American rock and roll musicians of the time before to the British Invasion, first as the lead vocalist of Dion and the Belmonts and later during his solo career.
He sang alone, with the Belmonts and the Del-Satins, or both, and had 39 Top 40 songs between the late 1950s and the early 1960s. Among other hits, he is best known for the tracks “Runaround Sue,” “The Wanderer,” “Ruby Baby,” and “Lovers Who Wander.”
