Between 1976 and 1984, she claimed a top-40 hit each year. From 1976 to the end of 1982, she had 12 top-ten successes, 10 of which were top-five hits, more than any other performer during that time. In 1983, she reentered the top five of the Hot 100, and in 1989, with “This Time I Know It’s for Real,” she scored her final top-ten success.
