Corin Lisa Tucker, an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, was born on November 9, 1972.
She is best known for her work with the rock group Sleater-Kinney. Besides being a part of the alternative rock ensemble Filthy Friends, Tucker has also released music as a member of the independent rock bands Heavens to Betsy and The Corin Tucker Band.

Tucker was raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota, after being born in State College, Pennsylvania.
Her mother worked as a medical technician and her father taught college there. Her father is a folk musician and vocalist as well. When she was 12 years old, she started piano lessons. She participated in a band named This That in high school with pals in Eugene.
Tucker studied cinema, political economy, and social change at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, in 1990. She was also introduced to Olympia’s music scene. When Bratmobile and Bikini Kill performed, I went to the performance when I was 18 years old, Tucker said.
