Chuck Berry has been dubbed the “Father of Rock and Roll” because he developed and clarified rhythm and blues into the fundamental ingredients that made rock and roll unique with songs like “Maybellene” (1955), “Roll Over Beethoven” (1956), “Rock and Roll Music” (1957), and “Johnny B. Goode” (1958).
He had a significant influence on subsequent rock music by writing songs about adolescence and consumerism, as well as developing a music method that included guitar solos and theatrics.
