Caetano Emanuel Viana Teles Veloso, also known by his Portuguese name Caetano Emanuel Viana Teles Veloso, was born in Brazil on August 7, 1942. He is also a political activist and composer.
During the 1960s, at the start of the Brazilian military dictatorship that took power in 1964, Veloso initially gained notoriety for his involvement in the musical movement known as Tropicalismo in Brazil. Tropicalismo included theatre, poetry, and music.
Caetano Veloso wife, and children
On November 21, 1967, Veloso wed Andrea Gadelha (or Dedé), a fellow Baiana and actress, in a wedding that evoked the counterculture movement. On November 22, 1972, their son Moreno was born. Their daughter Julia was born 3 months early on January 7, 1979, and she passed away 11 days later.
In 1983, Veloso and Dedé Veloso divorced. Veloso married Paula Lavigne, a native of Rio, in 1986, and the couple went on to have two additional sons: Zeca Lavigne Veloso was born on March 7, 1992, and Tom Lavigne Veloso was born in Salvador on January 25, 1997.
Paula acknowledged to Playboy magazine in 1998 that she lost her virginity to the musician when she was 13 years old. The artist was 40 years old at the time. [20] Since then, Caetano has been charged with paedophilia.
Twenty years were spent in this marriage. Despite being apart since 2004, the two continue to collaborate. Veloso’s 1989 album Estrangeiro has the songs “Esse Amor,” which translates to “This Love,” and “Branquinha,” which were both inspired by and dedicated to Veloso’s ex-wife Dedé and his then-wife Paula Lavigne, respectively.
