The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, north London, in 1963 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s.
The band has had previous members who are no more with the band. The likes of John Dalton, Andy Pyle, Jim Rodford, John Gosling and Gordon Edwards, just to mention a few are past members of the band.

Are any of The Kinks still alive?
Currently, the band members are Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avory The three are the original Kinks. Among the three members, non is dead. There are all still alive.
Having said that, three of the past members are dead. Pete Quaife who happens to be one of the past members died in 2010 at the age of 66.
Jim Rodford is a past member of the band. He passed away in 2018. Ian Gibbons is another past member of the band who is no more. He died in 2019.
