Amy Winehouse grandparents: Meet Cynthia Winehouse, Alec Winehouse
her grandparents have been identified as Cynthia Winehouse, and Alec Winehouse. We however do not have much information about them.
Amy’s maternal grandmother Cynthia had dated English jazz musician Ronnie Scott and had been a singer.
Amy’s grandma Cynthia recommended that she enrol in the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School in 1992. Amy attended there on Saturdays to enhance her tap dancing and vocal training. Before enrolling full-time at Sylvia Young Theatre School, she attended the school for four years and co-founded the short-lived rap trio Sweet ‘n’ Sour with her childhood friend Juliette Ashby.
Later, it was said that Winehouse had been expelled at the age of 14 for “not applying herself” and for having her nose pierced, but Sylvia Young refuted this, saying: “She moved schools at 15… Despite what I’ve heard, she wasn’t expelled. I would never have kicked Amy out.
