Adele Laurie Blue Adkins MBE, better known by her stage name Adele, was born in England on May 5, 1988. Adele joined XL Recordings after earning her art degree from the BRIT School in 2006.

The UK top-five songs “Chasing Pavements” and “Make You Feel My Love” were from her debut album, 19, which was released in 2008. In the UK and the US, the album’s certifications were 8 and triple platinum, respectively. Both the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and the Brit Award for Rising Star was given to Adele.
