American R&B and pop vocalist Martha Rose Reeves was born on July 18, 1941.

The Motown female group Martha and the Vandellas, whose smash singles include “Come and Get These Memories,” “Nowhere to Run,” “Heat Wave,” “Jimmy Mack,” and their anthem “Dancing in the Street,” has her as its main vocalist. Reeves served as an elected councilwoman for the city of Detroit, Michigan, from 2005 until 2009. In 1995, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were recognised into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Sandra Delores Reeves, better known by her stage name Lois Reeves, was born on April 12, 1948.

She is an American singer best known for being the younger sister of Motown legend Martha Reeves, replacing Betty Kelly in her sister’s band the Martha and the Vandellas in 1967, and later providing background vocals for Al Green’s records in the 1970s as a member of the backing group Quiet Elegance.
