María de Los Ángeles de las Heras Ortiz, better known as Rocío Dúrcal professionally, was a Spanish singer and actress who died on March 25, 2006. Rocío Dúrcal was born on 4th October 1944). She became extremely popular in Mexico, earning the moniker Reina de las Rancheras (“Queen of Rancheras”).
Awarded by the Recording Latin Academy’s Governing Board honours musicians who have made great artistic achievements throughout their careers, the Latin Grammy Award for musical excellence was given to Rocío Dúrcal in 2005.

She was cremated; some of her remains were dispersed across Spain, and the remainder were placed in a crypt in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Years later, some of her husband Antonio Morales’ ashes, who passed away in 2014, were also interred there next to her.
