Leontine Florence Mary Welch, an English singer and Florence and the Machine’s main vocalist and principal composer, was born on August 28, 1986. Lungs, the group’s first studio album, peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart and took home the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2009.
Their subsequent four albums also found success on the charts. Welch published a book named Useless Magic in 2018 that included her own lyrics, poems, and artwork.

Florence Welch has two siblings, Grace Welch and J.J Welch. In as much as there isn’t much information about her siblings on social media, her sister Grace inspired Welch’s song by the same name.
Welch is the granddaughter of Colin Welch (James Colin Ross Welch), a former deputy editor of The Daily Telegraph and a former Daily Mail parliamentary sketchwriter who was originally from Cambridgeshire.
Welch is related to satirist Craig Brown through Brown’s wife and Welch’s aunt, Frances Welch. John Stockwell, an actor and filmmaker, is Welch’s maternal uncle. Grace, another sibling of hers, served as the model for Welch’s song of the same name.
