Fiona Apple McAfee Maggart or Fiona Apple was born on September 13, 1977, and is an American musician. Her song Criminal, which was on her first album, Tidal, won a Grammy Award in 1998 for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Since then Apple has released three studio albums.

Fiona is another selection from the Long Ashton breeding program of the 1990s. It is a very useful early bittersharp variety, maturing by early/mid-September. It is now widely planted in intensive cider orchards for its compact growth, strong center leader habit, and good and regular crops of large fruit.
