George Ivan Morrison, the only child of George Morrison, an electrician at a shipyard, and Violet Stitt Morrison, a former vocalist and tap dancer, was born on August 31, 1945, at 125 Hyndford Street in Bloomfield, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The home’s previous owner was the father of author Lee Child. Morrison’s family were Protestant working-class immigrants from Belfast who were derived from the Ulster Scots community.
