American country music performer, singer, and composer George Glenn Jones was born on September 12, 1931, and passed away on April 26, 2013.
His vast collection of popular songs, which includes his best-known tune, “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” as well as his unique voice and phrasing helped him gain international renown. Jones received the moniker “best living country singer” during the last two decades of his life.
