Eunice Kathleen Waymon, known professionally as Nina Simone, was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and civil rights activist born in Tryon, North Carolina, United States. She was loved by many following her great personality. Her music spanned styles including classical, folk, gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and pop.
On April 21, 2003, the talented singer was reported dead. She was said to have passed away in Carry-le-Rouet, France of “natural causes” in her sleep after a long illness.
