Martin “MJ” Emerson Jr., a cornerback with the National Football League’s Cleveland Browns, was born on September 27, 2000. His college football career was spent at Mississippi State.
Emerson attended Pine Forest High School while growing up in Pensacola, Florida.

In his rookie season, Emerson participated in all 13 of Mississippi State’s games and made five starts. He recorded a Southeastern Conference-high 11 pass breakups and 72 total tackles as a sophomore.
Emerson was ranked as the seventh-best cornerback in the country by Pro Football Focus, and he received an honorable mention of All-American designation.
