Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams on August 16, 1991, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter.
His songs have an effect on the contemporary sound of hip-hop and trap music, making him a prominent personality of his time. Thug, who is well-known for his peculiar singing style and attire, first started releasing independent mixtapes in 2011 with I Came from Nothing. He joined Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records at the beginning of 2013, and later that year, to much acclaim, he released his label’s inaugural mixtape, 1017 Thug.
