In the CBS television series Good Times, James Evans, Sr., played by John Allen Amos Jr. (born December 27, 1939), is a well-known American actor. Amos has also been on The West Wing, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and the television series The District as Washington, D.C. Mayor Ethan Baker. He also had a recurring role as Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on The West Wing.
During the course of his five-decade career, Amos has performed on Broadway and in a number of movies. In addition to the NAACP Image Award, he is up for a Primetime Emmy Award.
