Zachary Kapono Wilson, a quarterback with the National Football League’s New York Jets, was born on August 3, 1999.

He was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft while playing college football for BYU, where he twice won the MVP award in a bowl game.

On August 3, 1999, Wilson was born in Draper, Utah. He played high school football while attending Corner Canyon High School. As a senior, he ran for 752 yards and eight touchdowns in addition to passing for 2,986 yards and 24 scores.

Prior to subsequently backing out and deciding to enrol at Brigham Young University, Wilson had previously committed to play quarterback at Boise State University (BYU)

Wilson participated in nine games and made seven starts as a true freshman in 2018 at BYU. He became the youngest quarterback to start a game for BYU when he took the field for his first career start against Hawaii.

In total, he completed 120 of his 182 throws for 1,578 yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions by the end of the season. In the 49-18 victory over Western Michigan, he completed all 18 of his throws for 317 yards and four touchdowns, earning him the title of 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl MVP.
