Tom spent five years as a Demon Deacon for Wake Forest, and he redshirted his true freshman year. He was named honourable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) after starting all 13 of Wake Forest’s games in his redshirt sophomore season when he took over as the team’s starting centre. The following year, Tom switched to left tackle and started nine games. In 2021, he was named to the All-ACC first team.
The Green Bay Packers selected Tom in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft (140th overall). On May 26, 2022, he agreed to a four-year rookie contract. On September 11, 2022, he played in his first NFL game during a defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. He took over at left guard after starter Jon Runyan Jr. went down with a concussion in the third quarter.
