He originally intended to pursue advanced level degrees in English, Biology, and Psychology, but at the age of 12, he changed his mind and enrolled in Sylvia Young Theatre School’s acting program.
He departed at the age of 14 to enroll in the Church of England’s Ranelagh School in Bracknell, Berkshire. Hoult participated in the neighborhood chorus and played the trombone as a youngster.
