He only participated in football during his final year, thus college football programs weren’t really interested in signing him. After hauling in 25 passes for 648 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior, he was named to the District 24-4A second team.

Evans competed in the jumping events in track and field. He recorded personal best jumps of 6.28 meters in the long jump and 14.11 meters in the triple jump. In addition, he ran the 40-yard sprint in 4.54 seconds and competed on the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay teams at football camp.
