At Oklahoma State, where he played college football, he was a three-year starter and received the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in his last season.

In the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Steelers selected him.

He went to Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina, after transferring from Westminster Catawba Christian School. He threw for 10,986 yards and 132 passing touchdowns during his career.

After J. W. Walsh and Daxx Garman, Rudolph started his true freshman year in 2014.  Rudolph served as Garman’s backup when Walsh sustained an injury. Rudolph began to the first game of his career against Baylor when Garman got hurt.
