Coming out of high school, 247Sports.com had Borom rated as a three-star recruit. On August 23, 2016, he pledged to Missouri.
Borom sat out his rookie campaign in 2017. As offensive line coach Glen Elarbee described Borom as a “Coke machine with a helmet on,” his presence was immediately apparent. Borom, a redshirt freshman, participated in each of the 13 games for the 2018 campaign, seeing action on special teams and serving as a backup right tackle. In 2019, Borom made his first 11 starts at right guard to start the season before switching to right tackle for the second half. Borom started every game as a right tackle for the 2020 season.
